The salt
marsh teems with wildlife, especially birds such as Snowy Egrets, Great Blue Herons, Mute Swans,
Osprey, Hawks, Eider Ducks, Mergansers, Scoters, Terns, and Shore Birds such as Piping and
Semipalmated Plovers, Oyster Catchers, Greater and Lesser Yellow Legs, and many more.
We may even see deer, coyote, fox, raccoon or possum.
Historically,
there is a wealth of knowledge and sights we will share with you as we paddle past the historic
Sandy Neck Light, an old whaling process site, and the 180 year old village of Sandy Neck. All of
this as you paddle into the past to learn the connections early settlers had to the marsh
and the harbor. Paddling during a low tide we come across the tidal flats that expose natures colorful,
magical and stunning abstract art patterns in the sand.
ONE CUSTOMER WROTE TO SAY:
“Great Marsh Kayak was the best choice of our vacation for the kids, my husband and I. The kids loved the tour and we we’re amazed at the information shared by Bob and Richard. We laughed and learned the whole time. See you next year guys!”
