What You'll See

The salt marsh teems with wildlife, especially birds such as Snowy Egrets, Great Blue Herons, Mute Swans, Osprey, Hawks, Eider Ducks, Mergansers, Scoters, Terns, and Shore Birds such as Piping and Semipalmated Plovers, Oyster Catchers, Greater and Lesser Yellow Legs, and many more. We may even see deer, coyote, fox, raccoon or possum.

Historically, there is a wealth of knowledge and sights we will share with you as we paddle past the historic Sandy Neck Light, an old whaling process site, and the 180 year old village of Sandy Neck. All of this as you paddle into the past to learn the connections early settlers had to the marsh and the harbor. Paddling during a low tide we come across the tidal flats that expose natures colorful, magical and stunning abstract art patterns in the sand.

When you arrive at the office we will process payment: Visa, M/C and of course as strange as it sounds we take cash, remember cash?

Next, we meet and learn about the adventure ahead, the twists and turns of the marsh, the wildlife and the general setting of the day. All these details of your Cape Cod kayak tour will be given by our well trained guides and naturalists.

During the briefing you will be pampered by our staff as they fit you with all the gear you are required to have, including spray skirt - looks cute on the guys - this apparel keeps you nice and dry, then a PFD (personal flotation device) and booties if you want them. Remember old sneakers, sandals and bare feet are just fine. We will probably want to stop for a swim or walk on the beach so make the wise choice for your feet.

A brief safety and paddling lesson will be necessary before we hit the water. During the trip we will be there to assist you on better technique and paddling ease.

Most importantly we want your day to be filled with the simple joy of kayaking. We can stop for a swim, a walk, slow down and catch some rays, the whole time drinking in the magic that is Cape Cod.

I Can’t Wait!  Can You?
